Getting the Maui County list
Maui County's Treasury Division announces each year's real property tax sale (a handful of parcels in May) and posts the delinquent tax accounts list, but no list of surplus held. Its tax sale FAQ says proceeds above the taxes and sale costs may be claimed by the former owner and other lienholders: ask Real Property Tax Collections (808-270-7697) which sold parcels left surplus; judicial-foreclosure surplus is held in the Second Circuit Court case. Unclaimed surplus is eventually turned over to the State of Hawaii Unclaimed Property Program (Department of Budget and Finance), where it can be searched and claimed.
