Getting the Howard County list

Howard County posts a "Tax Sale Proceeds" spreadsheet (Tax Sale Surplus and Excess Funds) naming each account and depositor with the deposit date, but only a grand total (about $1.19 million in February 2026), not the amount per account. The County pays third parties only on a Circuit Court order. The former owner claims through the county's administrative process (Tax-Property 14-818); anyone else, including a surplus recovery firm, must get an order from the Circuit Court.
