Getting the Sarpy County list

The Sarpy County Treasurer posts tax sale rules and the delinquent tax list but no surplus list (questions: taxsale@sarpy.gov). Excess proceeds from tax-certificate or mortgage foreclosure sales are held in the case by the Sarpy County Clerk of the District Court in Papillion. Since LB 727 (2023) a tax certificate holder may take a treasurer's tax deed only when the owner's equity is $25,000 or less; otherwise the certificate must be foreclosed in district court (Neb. Rev. Stat. 77-1837, 77-1902), and sale proceeds above the taxes, interest and costs are paid into that court for the former owner.
